Take QC inspection service before shipment as an example, it is usually made when goods are 100% finished in factory. QC inspectors will randomly select samples from finished products and check following aspects;
- Quantity available
- Style & color
- Workmanship (general appearance)
- Functions & safety
- Size specification
- Package details
- Shipping marks
After inspection, a report with clear pictures and descriptions will be sent to buyers for reference so that buyers can decide whether to accept the goods or not, or require factory to rework goods.
Currently, the most famous 3rd party QC companies include SGS, ITS, BV, TUV, HQTS and etc. They have established branches across the world, especially in China, they have a lot of branches to make sure inspectors can be sent out from the nearest city and save client's cost.
3rd party QC company usually charge inspection service by man-day, that is, per man per day. And the charge ranges from USD150 to USD400 per man per day+traveling cost+hotel cost (if needed). As to how many men/days needed to finish an inspection, it depends on shipment quantity, inspection requirements and factory location. Usually, a 40' container of goods can be finished within 1-3 days.
Suppose you spend less than 1-2% of your total invoice for inspection fee and save you from a lot of quality problems after receiving goods, that will be really worth.
